This report depicts the human rights violations in Sindh, Pakistan by Pakistani security forces and
intelligence agencies in a systematic manner for more than a decade. The so called provincial and federal
democratic governments are dead silent on these issues. This practice of mobilizing security forces against
political and human rights workers is the key violation of the constitution of Pakistan and laws of state.
As an ideological political movement, Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz (JSMM) does not acknowledge the
1973’s Constitution of Pakistan (formulated by a truncated assembly) because it lacks the mandate of the
“social contract among the federating unit states/nations” which was previously agreed upon in 1940’s
historic Lahore resolution but was abrogated by the separation of East Pakistan (Bangladesh) from the
federation in December, 1971. Therefore, this constitution ensures the supreme authority & dominancy
of Punjab over all other constituent nations i.e. Sindhi, Baluch and Pashtuns; therefore, it does not truly
represent the authorities and interests of the nations and hence, is a chain of forced integration and
occupation.
However, as world recognizes the Pakistan and consider her laws while discussing the breaches and
violations of human rights, we quote some of its articles that don’t even allow them to treat her colonial
nations to be treated inhumanly.
The constitution of Pakistan unambiguously recognizes right to life. Article 4, Clause 2 (a) reads “no action
detrimental to the life, liberty, body, reputation or property of any person shall be taken except in
accordance with law”. Similarly, Article 9 reads “no person shall be deprived of life or liberty, save in
accordance with law”. Article 3 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights says “everyone has the right
to life, liberty and security of person.”
Pakistan is also a party to International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. Article 6 of the Covenant
says “every human being has the inherent right to life. This right shall be protected by law. No one shall
be arbitrarily deprived of his life.”
The section below provides details of the mutilated and brutal killings of the political and human rights
activists occurred in previous one and a half decade. A full list of known enforced disappearances from
years past is in Appendix A and Appendix B contains bibliography.
